As of Feb 2010, I am a licensed Amateur Radio or "HAM".  I have enclosed some of the links from my new interest.  I had two primary reasons to study and take the licence.  The first is for when I drive SAG wagon in support of bicycle rides where I would have to wait at rest stops rather than being able to get information on who needed help.  So now I will be able to be out on the road and in communication.  The second area that I will be using my new skills is to support Emergency Services and CERT in the Mt Diablo Valley.  I am comms co-lead for the CERT in Heather Farm and will be increasing my involvement in Contra Costa's Emergency Communications.
